Outstanding Chemical Technician
Every year the Midland Section of the American Chemical Society presents the Outstanding Chemical Technician award.
Scope: The Outstanding Chemical Technician Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated an extremely high degree of professionalism as a chemical technician. Recipients must work or live in Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Isabella, or Gratiot County.
Eligibility: Recipients must work or live in Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Isabella, or Gratiot County. Nominees must have worked for five years as a chemical technician, or in a related field, and whose primary job includes conducting experimentation or correlating information to help solve chemical problems or discover new chemical knowledge. The nominee must have successfully completed a two-year post-high school level chemistry curriculum leading to an associate degree, the equivalent course in a baccalaureate program, or equivalent experience.
Nomination Package: Nomination packets must, at a minimum, consist of a current resume or equivalent, a nominating letter, and at least one supporting letter. The nomination must come from a Midland Section ACS member. All letters should state why the nominee is deserving of the award with specific examples of professional involvement/growth, contributions to the profession, and outside affiliations. Additional letters of support from students, parents, community members, and/or administrators may be included. Nominations should include outside affiliations.
Nominations not meeting the minimum requirements will be rejected.
Judging: Selected by the Awards Committee.
Deadline: Nominations for 2024 closed on March 31, 2024.
