Science Education Volunteer of the Year
Every year the Midland Section of the American Chemical Society presents the Science Education Volunteer of the Year award.
Scope: This award recognizes a person residing in Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Isabella, or Gratiot County who makes a substantial contribution to science learning in the Midland Section through volunteer efforts.
Eligibility: This award recognizes a person residing in Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Isabella, or Gratiot County who makes a substantial contribution to science learning in the Midland Section through voluntary efforts.
Candidates are not required to be ACS members.
Nomination Package: Nomination packets must, at a minimum, consist of a current resume or equivalent, a nominating letter, and at least one supporting letter. The nomination must come from a Midland Section ACS member. All letters should state why the nominee is deserving of the award with specific examples of professional involvement/growth, contributions to the profession, and outside affiliations. Additional letters of support from students, parents, community members, and/or administrators may be included.
Nominations not meeting the minimum requirements will be rejected.
Judging: Selected by the Awards Committee.
Deadline: Nominations are now closed. The deadline for nominations 2022 nominations was March 31. The Midland ACS website, midlandacs.org, will publish details on the 2023 awards program in January.
